Old Undertaker Building

Old Undertaker Building

Cool picture of the old Undertaker Building in Victor Colorado! The antique painted advertising is wonderful. Probably everyone knew what the building was, but I suppose it doesn’t hurt to drive the point home.

If interested in Cripple Creek and Victor, read Mable Barbee Lee’s Cripple Creek Days. She lived in the district during the early mining days, and her father was a prospector. She ended up teaching in Victor.  Mable does a great job of bringing this area’s heyday back to life. Sometimes it is a bit hard to imaging these sleepy little towns as hives of activity: so that’s where the books come in!

This picture was taken in 2013. I revisited Victor in 2014, and mining is back on the upswing – and Victor was hopping!! Just goes to show the cyclical nature of things!!
